Reggie Berg

Reggie_berg_small

Reggie Berg, an Anoka native has achieved success at every level of hockey since his first on ice experience when he was two years old. As the story goes,  his dad took him to the neighborhood rink and had him push a little blue plastic chair around until he felt comfortable going on his own.  It wasn't long and he got rid of the chair.

After youth hockey Reggie made the Anoka High School team as a ninth-grader.  His freshman year he led his team in scoring and as a sophomore year he was named All-Conference, All-Metro, and All-State.  Reggie’s efforts in the classroom were rewarded as well being named the Metro Scholar Athlete Award.  As a Junior Reggie expanded his horizons and played in the USHL in Des Moines, Iowa.  Reggie's first year in Des Moines he won the Anderson Cup (league champions), the Clark Cup and a National Championship. As a Senior at Des Moines he was selected to the USHL All-Star team and led the play-offs with the most goals despite playing with a wrist that required surgery during the off-season.

After being recruited by numerous Division I schools, Reggie returned home as a Golden Gopher.  As a freshman he scored 23 goals making him the 3rd highest scoring freshman in the history of the University of Minnesota.  The following summer he was selected to play on the United States National Select Team in Finland, following this Reggie contributed heavily helping the Gophers win the McNaughton Cup that same season.

As a junior Berg was the league Co-Scoring Champion and was named to the 2nd WCHA All-Star Team as well as being awarded the unsung Hero plaque by his teammates.

Capping off his senior year Reggie scored his 150 point to make him a member of the 150 Point Club which includes only 23 members.  He was awarded the unsung hero plaque a second time.

Reggie brings an international perspective to coaching after having played in Switzerland in 1992 with the USA Select Team, in 1993 he went to Japan with the USA Select 17 Team, and in 1995 as part of the US National Team going to Red Deer, Alberta.  Finally in 1996 he traveled to Boston for the US National Team in the World Junior Championships.

Reggie was drafted by the Toronto Maple Leaf in the 7th round 178th overall in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft before finishing his career with the Florida Everblades’ as the all-time leader in points, goals scored, plus-minus and power play goals while finishing second in games played and assists. Reggie played for the Everblades from 1999-2007 and after announcing his retirement Berg’s No. 10 jersey was promptly retired by the organization.

Jimmy Kilpatrick

Jimmy_aeros_10_copy__2__small

Jimmy Kilpatrick has a passion for developing youth hockey players to achieve their potential. This approach is starts with a clear focus on positive reinforcement, and individual skill development both on and off the ice.

On ice training with Jimmy is spent turning player’s weaknesses into strengths. These skill sessions will be spent touching the puck for hours not seconds and understanding how to do things the right way while performing each skill with enough repetitions to change previously learned bad habits.

By focusing on doing things the right way Jimmy is a perfect example of how these behaviors translate to becoming successful in life as well as on the ICE.  Jimmy spends his summers working hard to change the lives of the young athletes he works with and leave a lasting impression on them in all aspects of their lives for years to come. Take advantage of these proven winning instructors’ ability to encourage your athlete to take positive advice and then watch, as they’ll push themselves to SUCCEED!!!
